The London of Oliver Twist

Our beautifully hand crafted mural depicts some of the locations in Charles Dickens’ novel “The Adventures of Oliver Twist” in which he set out to expose the crime and degradation he found in “the cold, wet shelterless streets of London, the foul and frowzy dens,… the haunts of hunger and disease”.

He succeeded too well for our present purpose. As a direct result of this book many of the areas described were rapidly demolished and no reliably visual record remains. Nevertheless we believe that by dedicated research we have accurately re-created the scenes that inspired him.

Each of these sets of facades comprises two, three or four buildings, depending on their complexity. Some include figures illustrating moments from the story.

These facades can be displayed as single sets, or combinations of any number, or may be built up into the complete mural.

The full collection of buildings covers an area of wall approximately 105x45cm.

Easy to fix using Velcro* patches supplied.

Full instructions enclosed.
